A villa with particular care for its originality and details, and yet a perfect getaway from busy coastline, Villa Ursula is an excellent choice for everyone who would like to experience luxury in rural style. The story behind the estate in village Marušići, next to Grižane, can fascinate everyone interested in the past architecture. House itself was built in 1906 in Art Nouveau style and renovated in 2013. The owners paid special attention preserving the centennial shine and to bring a history that took place in the Austro-Hungarian times, but also to provide all the modern comfort we are used to.
Place, which is open all year round, surprises with its setting, surroundings, and interior. Between mountains and sea, it provides scenery and scents of true Mediterranean. The sea is mere ten minutes drive away, with all the facilities in the Crikvenica Riviera, while small town of Grižane has a shop and other necessary walking-distance offerings.
The ground floor of the villa has two spacious bedrooms, each with its own bathroom and a beautiful sea view. One of the rooms is white with blue details, and the other one has warm ochre painted walls. In the back side of the ground floor there is a washing machine and a storage area.
Inside the villa a wide wooden staircase leads to the first floor. The walls are decorated with original paintings from the era when the villa was built. To the left there is a bedroom in calming lavender colour with one wall entirely decorated with original paintings. The bedroom is furnished with original antique furniture that bears carvings decorated with golden leaf. The room has its own bathroom. Down the hall to the right a door leads into the living area.
On the second floor there are two more bedrooms with breathtaking views of the valley, the lake and the sea. The bedrooms on the second floor have their own spacious bathrooms with two sinks and a bidet and a perfect view of the cliffs. One of these rooms (the green one) and its accompanying bathrooms are also decorated with original paintings on the walls. The second bedroom on the second floor is painted in a light orange tone.
The living area consists of the living room, where sitting in comfortable sofas, you can watch TV (SAT), or read a good book or even surf the internet (free wireless), or just make an afternoon break. Connected to the living room, there is the dining room and the kitchen. In the dining room there is a large white antique table and an old cupboard from the same period. Both have been in the house since it was built. The kitchen is fully equipped with all of the small inventory and appliances (oven, gas stove, fridge and freezer, dishwasher, microwave, filter coffee maker, electric kettle, toaster).
From the kitchen you can step out to two terraces. Left, on the open terrace oriented to the west, ideal for sipping the morning coffee while listening to a concert of crickets or even enjoying a glass of wine while gazing at the sunset. Right out of the kitchen there is a balustrade, a covered terrace with a large wooden table surrounded by benches on which you will probably spend most of the day in the shade. Next to the terrace there is a barbecue, and from there a few steps take you out to the garden with a private pool, with crystal blue water. The sundeck by the pool is paved and you can enjoy the sea and the lake view from the sun chairs at your disposal or simply by lying in the pool. From the sunrise until the sunset, the swimming pool and the sundeck are sunlit. Next to the swimming pool (7,5 x3, 5 m), there is a shower with water heated by solar cells.
All rooms are oriented to the south, with a magnificent view of the sea, the islands of Krk and Cres, the valley and the lake. The rooms are very spacious, each having original wooden floors and are decorated in a way that takes you in a journey back in time. The rooms have double beds. Each room has a private bathroom with shower. Our guests have a hair dryer, an iron and an ironing board rack at disposal.
