Sparkling Breakfast in Ilok

The Srijem sparkling breakfast in the vineyard was held at the Papak Ilok Wine Tasting Room, in the easternmost wine-growing location of Radoš, organized by the Vukovar-Srijem County Tourist Board, the Vinske zvijezde magazine, and the initiator of the sparkling breakfast project, Marija Vukelić.

The Srijem breakfast was prepared by the Dunav Hotel, offering local specialties, and to the sounds of music by the Munguru band, visitors tasted sparkling and still wines from the Papak, Čobankovič, Kast, and Buhač wineries. Two local OPGs were also new - Vukovarska Lavanda from Bogdanovci and goat cheese Lovrić Jovanović from Kompletinci. A wine workshop "Sweet and Blue" was held - a blind tasting of Srijem wines with leftover sugar, Traminer and Papak Graševina with French blue cheeses Bleu d'Auvergne and Roquefort. The final part of the "En primeur Srijem" program invited winemakers to present some of their new wines or recent vintages - the Čobankovićs presented their Cabernet Sauvignon 2025, Kast Frankovka 2024, Papak Frankovka 2020, and Buhač presented their sweet Čarobna šuma from the Gamay variety.

On the table of the Dunav Hotel were local specialties such as bread with lard and paprika, cracklings with cheese and cracklings, cheese rolls, kulen, kulen's seka, cheeses (cow's, poured, hard with paprika, walnuts, smoked), noodles with ham and cheese, flekica with cabbage, boiled smoked shanks.

Sweet part of the table: served were tačka and noodles with walnuts and poppy seeds, salenjaci, šnenokle, strudel with walnuts and poppy seeds, watermelons and melons, and additional pairings were brought by langošice that arrived warm from the kitchen of the Papak winery - everyone could pair it with sparkling or still wine.

“The seventh sparkling breakfast in the vineyard on Radoš showed that such events enhance the tourist offer by highlighting our eno-gastro destination with excellent wines and local products, which is why guests return to us every year in increasing numbers, for this breakfast and throughout the year – said host Mladen Papak.
