Chef Miroslav Janjić won a prestigious Hilton Award

Chef Miroslav Janjić, Executive Chef at Keight Hotel Opatija (Curio Collection by Hilton), has received the most prestigious recognition within Hilton’s global network – the 2025 CEO Light & Warmth Award. Selected from more than 800 nominations, Miroslav was chosen as the recipient of Hilton’s highest honour, celebrating exceptional individuals who embody warmth, hospitality and excellence in their everyday work.

Through his leadership, Miroslav actively fosters an environment in which every team member feels valued and encouraged to grow. By promoting open communication, mentorship, and the organisation of training sessions and workshops, he builds trust and a strong team spirit. His dedication to guests was particularly evident during an unexpected technical malfunction, when he responded promptly, took charge of coordinating the team, and stayed late into the night to ensure a solution was found and that guests continued to receive service in line with Hilton’s standards.

Miroslav stands out not only for his outstanding culinary expertise, but also for his commitment to the wider community. He is especially involved in charitable initiatives and educational workshops for children with Down syndrome, offering support and inspiration, while leading by example and encouraging his team to actively engage in socially responsible projects.

He further enhances the guest experience through interactive cooking workshops and continuously introduces creative culinary concepts and best practices, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence. Born in Ladimirevci near Osijek, Miroslav has turned his passion for cooking into a career built both in Croatia and abroad. Holding a master craftsman qualification and additional education in Food & Beverage Management in Ika, he is recognised for an approach that combines expertise, genuine warmth and strong teamwork.

The 2025 CEO Light & Warmth Award includes a personal letter of congratulations from Chris Nassetta, President and CEO of Hilton, a USD 10,000 cash prize, Hilton Honors Diamond status for three years, and an official trophy.
