Klenovica, a small coastal town known for its fishing and shrimp tradition. While the restaurants of the Crikvenica-Vinodol Riviera celebrate the flavours of Kvarner shrimp from May 15th to 31st through special menus and exclusive dinners, Klenovica offered visitors something special on Saturday, May 23rd as part of the Shrimp Festival – an authentic experience of life by the sea through Shrimping with Guests and the Shrimp Festival.

The shrimp fishing program began at 8:00 a.m. on the Klenovica waterfront, when registered participants set off by boat to the shrimp-fishing sites. While the morning sun illuminated the open sea and the smell of salt filled the air, visitors were able to observe the fishing for Kvarner shrimp up close – from preparing the bait to hauling them in. Accompanied by a guide, they discovered the story of man and the sea, a story woven from patience, experience and deep respect for nature.

Klenovica is a place where shrimp is not just a gastronomic delicacy, but a part of identity and way of life. A place where shrimp comes straight from the pot to the guest's plate, bringing with it the authentic taste of the sea and tradition. So, from 10:00 a.m., the center of Klenovice transformed into a coastal gastro stage with the Shrimp Festival.

Visitors enjoyed the smells of freshly prepared dishes - from traditional delicacies like grilled shrimp and buzara to more modern combinations like shrimp and strawberry risotto - with a glass of žlahtina, a relaxed atmosphere by the sea, and the sounds of the Intriga a capella group.
Various shrimp dishes were available at a promotional price of 10.00 euros, and the event was an opportunity to socialize, enjoy, and learn about the rich gastronomic and fishing traditions of Klenovica.
