Esplanade’s top mixologist, Vjenceslav Madić – Master Kishoni – is once again pushing the boundaries of the bar scene. With extensive international experience and an instinct for innovation, Madić is known for his sophisticated approach, keen attention to detail, and refined cocktail aesthetics that recall a miniature theatre — every glass tells a story, every sip awakens a new emotion. From the first aroma to the final sip, each cocktail is conceived as a small ritual — shaped by the bartender’s personal touch, striking presentation, and moments crafted to be remembered.

This November, Kishoni introduces new sensations — iced gelato cocktails. In true visionary fashion, this collection blends handcrafted Italian gelato with premium liqueurs, spirits, and aromas to create distinctive combinations of flavour and texture. “Forget seasonal rules — the time for gelato is now, whether you’re seeking refreshment, an autumn dose of hedonism, or a sweet winter adventure,” concludes Vjenceslav Madić. The collection features a classic Affogato with artisanal Bourbon-vanilla gelato and fragrant espresso notes, pistachio gelato paired with Bajadera liqueur, chocolate gelato with Amarena cherry liqueur, a fusion of salted caramel gelato and mezcal, and coffee-amaretto gelato with bourbon whiskey. “As a lover of true Italian gelato and premium liqueurs, I believe this will be a real surprise for genuine hedonists,” says Madić, adding: “Hyggis Gelato is masterfully fresh, traditionally made Italian gelato prepared by the Peroš family from Zagreb using the finest natural ingredients with no artificial additives. The pistachios and lemons come from Sicily, the hazelnuts from Piedmont, the Bourbon vanilla from Madagascar — and when combined with selected liqueurs, they guarantee a year-round guilty-pleasure experience.”

In addition to the new gelato cocktails, premium drinks, and signature cocktails, November at the Esplanade 1925 Lounge & Cocktail Bar brings another great reason to gather — the Sharing Menu. Chef Ana Grgić Tomić has created a gourmet experience for four people, designed to share alongside a cocktail, craft beer, or a glass of wine. The collection includes mini bites of Esplanade classics such as the Club Sandwich with chicken and pancetta served with crispy fries and homemade ketchup, hand-chopped beef tartare with selected spices, chicken Caesar salad, sesame-crusted tuna tataki, and croquettes of dried tomatoes and smoked prawns. The Sharing Menu for four is available at €89.
Also on offer are the legendary Esplanade štrukli, available in a gluten-free version, alongside a range of gourmet snacks such as a beef burger with creamy mustard sauce and onion marmalade, focaccia with Drniš prosciutto and Pag cheese, croissant with smoked salmon, creamy pea and mint soup, homemade consommé, and porcini pie with rocket.

The afternoon tea service brings a dose of elegance and relaxation to the table with a mini brioche filled with goose liver and pear marmalade, followed by burrata, sun-dried tomatoes, sardines, and pine nuts. The sweet finale includes strawberry-prosecco tiramisu squares, delicate macarons, rum-and-chocolate choux, and oriental delights with kadaif, pistachios, and rose water. This ritual is served daily from 12:30 to 18:30 at the Esplanade 1925 Lounge & Cocktail Bar. The price is €45 and includes a lavish tiered stand of savoury bites and sweets for two, a mini baked štrukla per person, and Ronnefeldt tea of your choice served in a teapot with lemon and honey.
The Esplanade 1925 Bar is open daily from 8:30 to 2:00, food is served from 12:00 to 00:30, and the Orient Express afternoon tea from 12:30 to 18:30. Table reservations: (01) 4566 633, esplanade1925@esplanade.hr
