The winery overlooks the four highest peaks of Central Croatia: Ivančica, Medvednica, Kalnik, Strahinjčica. The cellars and the wine cellar are located at the very top, at 350 m above sea level. A breeze from Ivančica and Strahinjčica constantly flows through the vineyards, creating healthy conditions for organic grape growing. Since 2009, grapevines have been grown under an ECO certificate.

Grapes have been grown in and around the winery since ancient times, dating back to Roman times. It is a wine-growing area with hundreds of beautiful wine cellars that embody the spirit of this region.
"The natural way of wine production is an intimate relationship between nature and its laws and our methodical, I would say spiritual attention - a close relationship with the vine itself, the grapes, the wine, the senses of sight, touch, smell and taste. The goal is the opposite of that in classical viticulture with pesticides, artificial fertilizers and cellar manipulations around industrial yeasts, taste and aroma enhancers, the pursuit of quantity and profit." - says Bolfan.

The goal here is honesty, quality and naturalness. At BOLFAN VINSKI VRH, the term TERROIR has truly been applied to its fullest. It denotes the uniqueness of each wine estate, from the man to the estate itself. By properly caring for the soil naturally, using composted manure from animals raised in nature and freedom, it is possible to increase the soil's quality and fertility. In this way, the soil nourishes and keeps the vines strong and resistant to bad climatic conditions and pests.
The flavors of BOLFAN wine are shaped by the challenges of grape production, which must ripen and reach healthy, optimal harvesting conditions. This is made possible by the soil and climate, wind, and high-quality sites, such as the Ivančica wind, where the vineyards are located.
