Ljetno prijepodne u Brinju podsjeća na šušur prošlih vremena. Središte grada se lagano puni autima i prolaznicima, iako je današnjih četiri tisuće stanovnika u cijeloj općini tek skroman podsjetnik na nekadašnjih 16 tisuća žitelja. Kako se ne bismo sjetili starih slavnih vremena, kada je Brinje mjesto ispod Sokolca, stare utvrde obitelji Frankopan.
